Mrs. Pauline Ezirim

Mrs. Ezirim is from Umuezeakolom village, Imo State. She has been widowed for 15 years, has 6 adult children and is the sole provider her 35 year old son who is very ill. She is currently a farmer but used to sell dry fish(Azu). She lost the business due to medical bills from taking care of her son. Mrs. Ezirim was awarded N50K to relaunch her dry fish (Azu) business. She plans to travel to Aba, Abia State to purchase inventory for her business.

Mrs. Bridget Alagwem
Mrs. Alagwem has 4 adult children, none stable enough to assist her financially
She is from From Ugwuala, Imo State. She currently sells provisions, buying it from Ekego and Ekezela Market in Imo State
She received N20K in SOWIN business grant to expand her business.

Mrs. Cordelia Diwe

Widowed for 10 years
Mrs. Diwe is from Umuokwara village, Imo State. She has been widowed for 10 years and has four children. She is unable to support all 4 kids and sent her two older kids to live and work as housemaids in other people’s homes. Mrs. Diwe currently sells dry fish

Mrs. Helen Ononiwu

Mrs. Ononiwu is from Ogwuala Village, Imo State. Her husband died in November 2018 and she has 5 children, Ages 11,9,7,4, and 10 months. Mrs. Ononiwu’s current source of income is farming. She is unable to generate enough income to take care of all 5 kids and was forced to send two of her older kids to live and work as maids in other people's homes. She used to sell stockfish and received N50K to relaunch the stockfish business. Her goal is to make enough money to bring back her older 2 kids. .

Mrs. Chidinma Ezirim

Mrs. Ezirim is from Umuopara village, Imo State. Her husband died in 2011 and she has 4 children ages 6 to 18 years old. Mrs. Ezirim currently sells FUFU/Casava and wants to expand the business to be a wholesaler in the village.She received N50K in SOWIN business grant to expand her business.

Mrs. Ezirim is from Umuokwara Village, Imo State. Her husband just died after falling into a fire pit. She has 2 kids, ages 3, 2 and expecting a 3rd child. She has no source of income and received N10K in SOWIN small business grant to open a Kerosene business.

Mrs. Patience Iwuagwu

Mrs. Iwuagwu is from Umuohiri village in Imo State. She has 2 adult children, one is not working and the second is disabled from a car accident. Her husband died in 2017.
She is currently selling food stock and was given N50K to expand the business

Mrs. Duru is from Umuohiri Village, Imo State. She has four kids, ages 14 to 20
She is unemployed and has been a widow since 2011. She received N50K to open a petty trading business.

Economy Goes Up

Mrs. Ogbehie has been a widow for 10 years. She two adult children but they are not able to help her financially. She is a tailor. Her sewing machine is broken and she does not have money to fix it or buy a new one. She received N50K for a new sewing machine. She will go to Aba market, Abia State to purchase the new sewing machine.

Mrs. Ada Okoronkwo

Mrs. Ada Okoronkwo lost her husband in 2018. When her husband died, her brother in law approached her for a relationship and she refused. Because she rejected his advances, he refused to help her. Mrs. Okoronkwo has 4 children - 9-year-old twins, a 16 and 13 year old. She currently sells used clothing but has very little inventory. She has $10.16 left to her name. She received N45K in SOWIN business grant to expand her business. Mrs. Okoronkwo exclaimed 'God did not forget us'..

Mrs. Caroline Ehiem

Mrs. Ehiem is from Umueke village, Imo State. She was widowed in 2014 and has two kids - ages 16 and 13. She is currently selling stockfish from her house and in a shed at the local market. She received N50K in SOWIN Grant to expand her stockfish business.

Mrs. Charity Atama

Mrs. Charity Atama is from Enuguezeike village, Enugu State. She was widowed in 2018 and has two children, ages 5 and 7. She currently sells fried bean pie. She buys one cup of beans everyday, makes and sells the bean pie; She sells out in less than an hour and uses the profit to feed her kids and saves $2 to reinvest the next day for a cup of beans. Other business owners mock her and tell her 'she is not serious' because she does not have money to buy large quantities of the ingredients. She was given N40K in SOWIN business grant to expand her business. She now sells yam, plantain, Akamu and bean pie..

Mrs. Nnamani is from Anambra State. She has one child, 6 years ld and lost her husband 4 years ago. She is selling food items and was given N30K to expand business.

Mrs. Veronica Ojiaku

Mrs. Ojiaku is from Uguala village, Imo State. She has 4 children, but they do not have contact with them. She survies from donations, and also sells bitter kola and kerozene. She wants to begin a farming business. She was given N50K to hire workers to help her with farming.

Mrs. Ekwelle is from Umueseakama village, Imo State. She has been a widow for 8 years and has 2 unemployed adult children. She sells Fufu and palm oil. She is also a farmer. She was granted N55K to expand her business and was elected by her peers to be the President of the SOWIN Business Club.

Mrs. Ifeoma Igwe

Mrs. Igwe is from Ugwuala village, Imo State. She became a widow in 2017 and has 5 children, ages 10 to 15. She sells Fufu, provisions, groundnut from her house and at the loacl market. She was given N50K to expand her business and begin buying in bulk. She was also elected by her peers to be the Secretary of the SOWIN Business Club.
